Terms and Conditions
INTRODUCTION
This Agreement (the "Agreement") governs the use of the Chargo app ("Chargo" or the "App"). The parties to the Agreement are you as a user of Chargo (“you” or “yours”) and Chargo AS with organisation number 923 074 278 (“the Company”, “we”, “our” or “us”). You accept the Agreement by creating a user profile in the App or by renting and paying directly on a payment terminal connected to a Chargo station.
The terms also apply to the use of our website as far as it is appropriate. Terms are subject to change. If changes occur to terms that are of importance to you, you will be notified before the change takes effect, so you can decide whether you want to continue using Chargo subject to the new terms.
Chargo is constantly evolving in terms of appearance, functionality, and content. We will keep you informed about changes and new opportunities.
CREATING A USER ACCOUNT
You are not required to register a user account to rent a powerbank. You may rent and pay directly on a payment terminal installed on the station. A user account is optional and can be created in the App. If you choose to create a user account, you are responsible for ensuring that all information is accurate and up to date.
The age limit for using Chargo is 13 years.
CHARGO USER GUIDELINES
Chargo is for your personal use only, unless otherwise agreed in writing with us. You must not allow others to use our services through your user account or payment profile. If you become aware of any unauthorized use of your user account, you must notify us immediately so that the user account is blocked. You are fully responsible for all use of Chargo through your user account until your user account is deactivated or blocked.
When using a power bank, you must perform a basic check of the unit to ensure there is no visible damage and that it has sufficient battery capacity. This is done by pressing the button on the side of the device and checking the battery level indicator. If you notice any errors or damage to the power bank or cables, do not use it and notify us immediately through the App or by contacting support@chargo.io.
You must treat Chargo’s equipment with care and as if it were your own. The equipment must be returned in the same condition as it was at collection. We reserve the right to claim compensation for damage beyond normal wear and tear according to the current price list.
ACTIVATION AND END OF THE RENTAL PERIOD/SUBSCRIPTION
The rental may be activated by (a) scanning the QR code and completing payment in the App or browser, OR (b) paying directly on a payment terminal installed on the station. The rental period lasts from activation until the power bank is returned in a free slot in the charging station and locked. You will then receive confirmation in the App or browser that the rental has ended.
A Chargo Subscription is active from the time you sign the subscription in the App. You can rent Chargo Power Banks as many times as you like while the subscription is active. You can cancel the subscription at any time in the App.
DAMAGES AND LACK OF RETURN
If the power bank is lost, damaged or not returned before the expiry of the maximum rental period, your payment card will be charged according to the current price list, including a replacement fee.
PRICES, DEPOSITS AND INVOICE FEES
See current price list under Pricing in the Chargo App or browser. Chargo Subscriptions are automatically renewed every month until cancelled by the user in the App.
If you rent and pay on a payment terminal, a security deposit between NOK 150 and NOK 300 will be reserved on your payment card, depending on the rental type, station, or campaign. The deposit is automatically released once the powerbank is correctly returned.
If there is no cover on the registered payment card, and/or the user does not pay outstanding rental amounts, we reserve the right to suspend further use of our services until payment has been made. In such cases, we may also claim missing payments via invoice. In that case, an invoice and administration fee of NOK 299 will be charged.
PRIVACY
We process your personal information in accordance with Norwegian privacy law.
We use certain subcontractors (including payment service providers) to provide our services. Such subcontractors are not permitted to use personal information for anything other than providing our services to you.
You choose whether you want to give the App access to camera (for QR), location (to find nearest station), battery level, or contacts (to invite friends). If you pay on a payment terminal, your card data is processed and stored only by our certified payment service provider. Chargo AS does not store your card number.
MARKETING, TELECOM SERVICES AND DISCOUNT CODES
We may send you information about Chargo such as news, usage tips and relevant offers. Discount codes can be used in accordance with the rules stated when they are issued. Referral functionality may only be used as intended. We reserve the right to cancel discount codes in cases of misuse.
Chargo may also collaborate with third-party Telecom providers to offer additional services to our users — for example, special offers on mobile subscriptions, data packages, or related products. Such offers are optional and will always be clearly presented before you choose to participate.
USER ACCOUNT LOCK
We reserve the right to block your user account and/or access to our services if we have reason to believe these terms have been violated, attempts to misuse the services, or other harmful or illegal behaviour.
INTELLECTUAL RIGHT
All rights and all material related to Chargo, including trademarks, program code, text, images and other content belong to Chargo AS or its licensors. Use beyond what is stated in this Agreement requires written approval.
AVAILABILITY AND LIABILITY
We do our best to make the service available at all times. However, we cannot guarantee availability due to high demand or technical issues. We cannot be held responsible for indirect or consequential losses.
If our services are defective and you cannot charge your mobile due to a defective powerbank, you may be entitled to compensation, normally in the form of discount codes. In accordance with the Product Liability Act (Produktansvarloven), you may be entitled to compensation if our products cause damage to a person or property. Beyond this, we disclaim liability to the extent permitted by law.
NO STATUTORY CANCELLATION RIGHT
As the service begins with your expressed prior consent, you do not have a statutory cancellation right for the purchase.
DURATION AND TERMINATION
The Agreement is valid as long as we offer Chargo. We may terminate the Agreement with immediate effect if we believe you are in breach. The same applies if you have not used our services for the past 24 months.
You may terminate the Agreement at any time by contacting us at support@chargo.io. If we cannot charge you for the renewal of your subscription within five days of the end of the subscription period, your subscription will be automatically terminated.
There is a fourteen-day withdrawal period when you sign up for a subscription. Chargo has no signup fees or binding period for subscriptions. You may terminate your subscription at any time in the app, but minimum 48 hours before the subscription ends. If you cancel within 48 hours before renewal, you will automatically be charged for another period.

MISCELLANEOUS
We may assign this Agreement in whole or in part, including your customer relationship, without your consent. This Agreement is governed by Norwegian law. Any disputes that are not resolved amicably will be settled by Norwegian courts.
